Last year was the hottest in the last 100,000
With the highest concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the greatest volume of carbon dioxide emissions, the highest sea surface temperatures and the lowest amount of Antarctic sea ice.
Climate change drives us. It’s why we’re building a business centred on the needs of our clients, not one that fits neatly into legacy energy industry structures. But the sheer scale of the problem means we don’t need to shout about it.
We’re optimistic for the future
Solar and battery prices have fallen by 99% in the last three decades. Renewables are being deployed faster than anyone expected. Sensors and software are finding new efficiencies for businesses. The renewable asset funding market is now vast and sophisticated. The commercial arguments alone are now strong enough to drive change.
Society needs coordination
We have most of the technology we need to solve climate change. Funding costs are below the cost of capital for many private companies. What’s holding firms back is fragmentation; their energy problems are tackled in silos by multiple suppliers.
